Monkey Island: Shopping for Elaine
Monkey Island - Shopping for Elaine
An unofficial fan-made point-and-click adventure inspired by Monkey Island.
The Story: Between the events of The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, Guybrush is on a mission to find the perfect birthday gift for Elaine and (hopefully) impress her. Explore the familiar yet mysterious Melee Island shop and dive into a fresh, little puzzle adventure with that classic Monkey Island charm.
About the Game: I created this game in less than a month, crafting everything from scratch—art, sounds, and scripts. It's a labor of love and a tribute to one of the most cherished game series of all time.
A special thanks to Ron Gilbert, his amazing team, and LucasArts for creating a universe that has captivated me for years. I've replayed Monkey Island nearly every year, and it still brings me that same indescribable joy.
Credits: All characters, the Monkey Island universe, and fonts are the property of Ron Gilbert, his team, and LucasArts.
Gameplay Tip: Press "." during conversations with the storekeeper to skip dialogue lines.
I Need Your Feedback! I would love to hear your thoughts:
- How did you find the puzzles? Too easy? Too tough?
- Does the game feel like classic Monkey Island?
- Should I add background music, or do the ambient sounds and effects work on their own?
I've been on my solo game dev journey for about five months now, and this is my 6th ever made game. Your feedback means the world to me. If you're interested in a behind-the-scenes look at how I made this game, let me know—I recently started a YouTube channel to share my journey!
Also, if you enjoy lofi music for your late-night study sessions or quiet reflections, check out my lofi channel: Setsunai FM.
Thanks for playing, and I can't wait to hear from you!
